Members of the UIB Casualty Team have extensive experience in the London market, placing liability insurance, both Primary covers and Excess of Loss covers, at Lloyd’s, in the UK and international company markets.

The Team brings together a number of specialist areas e.g. Public and Products Liability, Products Guarantee and Recall and Excess Liability, Group/Personal Accident, Travel, Group Life & Professional Indemnity.

Directors & Officers (D&O) and Errors & Omissions (E&O) are other areas of specific expertise within the team.  UIB regularly hosts seminars on these topics for both the direct buyers and underwriters who wish to develop a more thorough understanding of these areas.  In fact, specialist training on all the casualty/liability products is something the team is often involved with both in London and overseas.

Standard products are often insufficient at meeting very specific client requirements and this is where a wide knowledge of the London market with many contacts among senior underwriters is essential.  Skilled and lengthy negotiations are often required in order to produce tailor-made policies, which match exactly what the client needs.

Aware of the ever-changing judicial landscape, the Team exerts its outmost efforts to remain up to date with new legislation, court decisions, social pressures and new insurance products.

Tracking the monetary compensations awarded by the courts allows us to keep liability limits up-to-date. Staying abreast of new liability threats such as magnetic field exposures from electricity pylons and other technology related concerns helps us to keep clients informed of unfamiliar perils.
