Claims Support
The UIB Non-Marine Claims Team has evolved to produce a multi-disciplined capability with considerable experience in handling claims. With many years of experience in claims of all sizes arising from onshore & offshore energy risks, as well as CAR/EAR, property and liability policies. the Team has the aptitude to provide a comprehensive service covering all aspects of claim processing from original notification to claim payment.
The Team offers UIB clients total co-operation and assistance in claims matters which include attendance at claims meetings with underwriters and loss adjusters, on-site visits when required and advice to clients on all matters relevant to the claim. The Team’s familiarisation with current electronic claim processing methods for both notification and settlement ensures that all processing is completed with the minimum of delay. The efficient processing of claims is the acid test of any insurance broker and for this reason all personnel in the Team are committed and totally dedicated to a policy of prompt claim settlement.
Communication with clients is of paramount importance and special attention is given to this aspect of claim handling to ensure that all necessary parties are kept advised of developments. When required by clients the Team can prepare a set of claim procedures detailing the roles of the parties involved in the policy in the event of a claim to ensure reporting lines are in place at the outset of the policy.

Some Current Examples:
The Non-Marine Claims Team is currently involved in a major fire/flooding loss estimated in excess of US$ 100 million. After consultation with underwriters and loss adjusters, it was agreed that a claim escrow account be established to enable funds to reach the client with the absolute minimum of delay.
