Since 1987 UIB has focussed on energy as a core area of expertise. Knowing that technology and expertise drive the industry, UIB has recruited the specialists needed to excel in the field.

To reflect the markets, the Energy department is divided into two teams:

1. Upstream – which covers exploration, production, transport & distribution and
2. Downstream – which concentrates on refining, processing and distribution.

The company continues to focus on energy opportunities by developing its resources internally and drawing on outside expertise where it is needed on a project basis.   

The energy team with its diverse skills is able to deal with client enquiries on numerous levels and regardless of geographical location. Representing diverse cultural backgrounds, we are able to handle client issues with greater awareness and diplomacy.

Our long experience through various insurance cycles allows the team even in a difficult market, to complete the placing of challenging risks. We recognise that gathering critical risk information and tapping the right markets are key to our success.

Working alongside the commercial flexibility and risk analysis that have made Lloyd’s market so famous, UIB is able to offer innovative responses to unusual risks.

Elsewhere, our agility and regular presence in overseas markets has enabled us to identify emerging insurance capacity, before it has been exploited by others. Finally UIB’s energy team is recognised for its marketing endurance - to deliver on its promises.
