| Cover is for theft, loss, damage caused be an accident and in some cases can cover delay. If goods are shipped overseas a marine policy might be more appropriate. The basis of settlement should be agreed in advance either replacement as new or indemnity or invoice value including costs of insurance and freight. It is also important to ensure the cover ties into any RHA or CMR conditions. As the haulier you insure up to your contractual liability (hauliers liability) or as owner you need to insure above that limit or the whole value. |
