Our origins date back to 1993 when Sam Tan Boon Yeow, along with the Government linked ECICS Credit Insurance Ltd and UIB set up MACS-ECICIS Insurance Brokers Pte Ltd.
Since then the company has seen steady growth and is now one of Singapore’s leading local insurance broking outfits.

Backed by UIB’s international presence, we are able to offer our clients comprehensive insurance programmes based upon their individual needs. Utilising not only UIB’s international office network but also that of the Independent Insurance Brokers Association (IBA) network, we can place cost effective insurance programmes in many of the world’s leading insurance markets.
Following ECICS’s decision to divest itself of its non-core assets in 2003, MACS was able to purchase their stakeholding in the company. This created an excellent opportunity to grow and with the continued backing of UIB, MACS-ECICS was finally renamed MACS-UIB Insurance Brokers Pte Ltd. to reflect the new shareholding.
With the continued growth of MACS-UIB, we have extended our areas of business and are now one of the few local brokers to have in-house expertise in placing reinsurance for larger risks through our sister company UIB Asia Reinsurance Brokers Pte Ltd. here in Singapore.
Currently we are focusing on the increasing regionalisation of economies in ASEAN. The new strengths of MACS-UIB has placed the company in a good position to assist Singaporean companies either going into or expanding their operations within the region.
