During the second week of April 2010 UIB’s Group Head Office in London was host to over 25 delegates all attending our International Reinsurance Seminar.

This was the sixth Seminar that UIB has held and once again it attracted interest from clients in over 10 countries as far apart as Singapore, Brazil and Russia.

The Seminar which lasted four days dealt with all aspects of Treaty Reinsurance including Programmedesign, Accounting, and the selection of security.

In addition to the round of lectures and discussions Trevor Oates the Property and Engineering Underwriter of the Canopius syndicate at Lloyd’s gave a talk on an “Underwriters view, today and tomorrow”.
Besides this delegates went on a tour of Lloyd’s which was of particular interest to those visiting London for the first time.

A number of social events were organised culminating in a farewell dinner on the battle ship HMS Belfast moored just by Tower Bridge.

Overall the seminar gave delegates the chance to meet colleagues from other markets, discuss mutual problems and above all make new friends.
