IBS Insurance and Reinsurance Brokerage Co. Inc. (UIB Turkey) in conjunction with UIB London has jointly conducted a two day seminar in Istanbul at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel at the Bosporus. The theme of the seminar was “Power and Construction Insurances”.

The first day was focused on a “clients’ session” where over 100 participants were

in attendance from various reputable Turkish energy and construction companies.

After the welcoming speech by Mrs. Sevhan Gok Kahya of UIB Turkey and Mr. Gary Lille of UIB London, we were extremely fortunate to have the, CEO of TAV Airports Holding Dr. Sani Sener as our guest speaker.

Dr. Sani highlighted the dynamics of the airport construction and operations and the importance of insurance for an efficient and well financed operation.
Another guest speaker Mr. Marc Godfrey a loss adjuster of Crawford International, London provided us with the insight of claim issues on construction and energy projects.

The second day was dedicated to the Turkish insurance market; where there were approximately 80 participants. Renewable energy and insurance products in association with this issue was received with great interest and attention.

During both days, many important aspects in respect of energy and construction insurance were presented and discussed.

Simultaneous translations from English to Turkish and Turkish to English were also provided for the delegates and speakers.

The seminar was solely designed for current and future Power & Construction market issues and topics; however, it was obvious that there is a great appetite from the market for other seminars regarding different technical market issues on other classes of insurance.

The seminar on the first day was accompanied by a Cocktail Party in the evening on the terrace of Four Seasons Hotel where the surroundings and pleasant setting was enjoyed by all.
