Engineering Risk Consultants (ERC) was founded in 1987 and remains an independent engineering Consultancy. ERC provides tailored engineering services to clients across a broad range of industries and areas of expertise. Working closely with UIB’s insurance risk placing divisions, and also providing outsourcing  services to non-UIB clients worldwide, ERC delivers quality engineering surveys and risk control information sought-after by the insurance markets.

ERC’s principal service is to conduct surveys, provide an objective and impartial assessment of the risks and make risk improvement recommendations for the mutual benefit of the Insured and the Insurers.

Locations are evaluated for construction standard, hazardous processes and storage, fire control systems, supervision, management standards/human element programs, natural catastrophe perils, special hazards and all other traditional exposure elements from fire and explosion perils.

In addition to providing technical reports for underwriting purposes, ERC has the experience and ability to offer a wide range of consultancy services, including the assessment of business interruption exposure and the development of continuity plans. ERC in-house engineers draw their competences from their background as professional engineers in the industry for more than 20 years.  This includes Power and Utilities, Downstream-Midstream & Upstream Oil & Gas, Telecommunication, Logistics, Manufacturing and Production companies.

The multilingual engineering team, based in the London’s office, is specialised in delivering global risk engineering programs in Asia, Europe, MENA region, South America and West & East Africa. Their expertise covers a diverse range of activities from design, project, construction to operations and a broad range of disciplines including process safety, chemical engineering, fire detection and protection, instrumentation, electrical and mechanical engineering. ERC offers training services in order to assist the client in understanding the risks they are exposed to and ways in which these can be eliminated or effectively controlled.
