UIB strengthens Energy & Construction division with senior promotion and appointment within Downstream Energy team
International (re)insurance broker UIB has announced a senior addition to its highly respected Downstream Energy team, alongside the promotion of Mathieu Sahhar to Head of Downstream Energy.
Having initially joined UIB in 2012, gaining experience in the international property sector as a Broker for major international property clients, Mathieu moved into UIB’s Downstream Energy team in 2018.
Reporting to Marc Perrin, Executive Director, Energy & Construction Division, Mathieu is now responsible for the entire Downstream Energy portfolio and heads all London Market broking for energy and power accounts, including the marketing, renewal negotiation and placement of oil, gas, mining, petrochemical and power generation business.
Alongside Mathieu, Chris Saada has joined as Associate Director – Downstream Energy. A highly knowledgeable insurance professional with extensive international experience in insurance and reinsurance broking, Chris is skilled in the structuring, servicing, placement, and account delivery of Downstream Energy programmes including Conventional Power and Renewables across Property Damage, Business Interruption and Construction Reinsurance.
Whilst London based for the past two and a half years, his experience before that included building extensive relationships with regional, international and London Energy markets. His ten years of experience working in the UAE include retail and wholesale insurance and reinsurance activities.
